!Product Description
The Ajazz AK871 is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard designed for users who want wireless flexibility and easy switch customization. It suits office typists and gamers who prefer a compact layout with arrow and function keys but without a numeric keypad. Its hot-swappable switches allow users to change typing feel and sound without soldering, making it a good option for hobbyists exploring different switch types.
Key Features
- Dual-mode wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz provides versatile device pairing and reduces cable clutter.
- Hot-swappable switches let users replace any key switch without tools, enabling quick customization of typing experience.
- Tenkeyless layout saves desk space while retaining essential keys for productivity and gaming.
- Magnetic suction upper cover secures the keyboard’s top panel, aiding maintenance and switch changes.
Typing Experience
The keyboard offers three switch options: linear (Red), tactile (Brown), and clicky (Blue). Each has a total travel of about 4mm, catering to different preferences for feedback and sound. Hot-swappable design allows experimenting with these or other compatible switches without soldering. The OEM keycap profile supports a familiar typing angle and feel.
Connectivity
Wireless connection is available through Bluetooth 5.0 or a 2.4GHz USB receiver, allowing compatibility with multiple devices and reducing latency compared to Bluetooth alone. It uses two AAA batteries for power, so users should be prepared for periodic battery replacement. Wired connection is not supported.
Trade-offs
- Powered by AAA batteries, which may require frequent replacement depending on usage, rather than rechargeable options.
- No wired USB connection limits use cases where wired reliability or charging is preferred.
- Anti-ghosting supports only 19 keys simultaneously, which may be insufficient for some complex gaming key combinations.
- ABS plastic case is lightweight but less durable and premium-feeling compared to metal or higher-grade materials.
