Product Description

The Filco Majestouch Convertible 2 is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard suited for users who want a reliable, compact layout with both wired and wireless connectivity. It fits well for office workers or casual typists who value a straightforward typing experience and the flexibility to switch between up to four Bluetooth devices. It is less ideal for users seeking hot-swappable switches or extensive customization options.

Key Features

Dual connectivity via USB and Bluetooth allows seamless switching between wired and wireless use.
Bluetooth supports connection to up to four devices, useful for multitasking across multiple systems.
Full USB key rollover ensures all simultaneous key presses register correctly, important for fast or complex typing.
Multimedia keys provide quick access to common functions without additional software.
Powered by two AA batteries with automatic battery save mode, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Build Quality

Sturdy plate-mounted switch design enhances stability and durability during typing.
ABS keycaps with pad-printed legends are standard but may wear over time compared to more durable printing methods.
Compact tenkeyless ANSI layout saves desk space while retaining essential keys.

Typing Experience

Available with Cherry MX Black, Brown, Blue, or Red switches, offering a range from linear to tactile and clicky feedback.
Non-hot-swappable switches mean switch replacement requires soldering, limiting easy customization.

Connectivity

USB connection offers stable, low-latency input suitable for work or gaming.
Bluetooth wireless mode adds convenience for mobile or multi-device setups but may introduce unknown latency.

Compatibility

ANSI US QWERTY layout supports standard key arrangements for most users.
Compatible with Windows systems; compatibility with other OS is unknown.

Trade-offs

Lack of hot-swap support limits switch customization and repair ease.
No built-in audio or microphone ports reduces peripheral integration options.
ABS keycaps and pad-printed legends may not withstand heavy use as well as other materials.
