!Product Description
The Keychron B6 Pro is a full-size, low-profile mechanical keyboard suited for users who want a versatile typing tool with multiple connectivity options and a slim design. It fits well for office workers or casual users who prefer quiet scissor switches and need easy switching between Windows and macOS layouts. It is less ideal for those seeking customizable switch options or backlighting.
Key Features
- Connects via USB-C cable, Bluetooth 5.2, or 2.4 GHz wireless, offering flexibility for different setups.
- Easy toggle switch to switch between Windows and macOS layouts, allowing personalized key mapping for each OS.
- Programmable with Keychron Launcher and ZMK firmware, enabling custom key assignments and macros.
- Low-profile, concave keycaps with a slight typing angle support comfortable, natural hand positioning.
- 1000 Hz polling rate in wired and 2.4 GHz modes, which benefits users needing responsive input.
Build and Typing Experience
- Constructed entirely from ABS plastic, including top and bottom, which keeps the keyboard lightweight but may feel less sturdy than metal cases.
- Uses scissor switches, known for quiet and stable key presses, suitable for quiet environments but offering limited tactile feedback compared to mechanical switches.
- Keycaps are silk screened on ABS material, which may wear over time and does not support backlighting.
- Includes a silicone dust cover to protect the keyboard when not in use.
Connectivity and Compatibility
- Supports wired USB-C and wireless connections via Bluetooth 5.2 or 2.4 GHz receiver, allowing seamless switching between devices.
- Compatible with both Windows and macOS, with dedicated layout switching for each.
- Includes necessary cables and adapters for immediate use.
Trade-offs
- No backlighting or LED indicators, which may limit usability in low-light conditions.
- Non-hotswappable switches mean switch replacement requires soldering or professional service.
- ABS materials and scissor switches may not satisfy users seeking premium build or mechanical switch feel.
