What makes the Machina Overture V2 HE different from other 65% keyboards?

The Machina Overture V2 HE stands out with its use of hall effect switches powered by the Venom65 HE PCB, delivering exceptional durability and smooth key actuation. Its CNC aluminum body combined with unique side accents made from materials like parawood and PVD copper adds a premium aesthetic rarely seen in compact keyboards.

Can I customize the switches and keycaps on this keyboard?

Yes! The Machina Overture V2 HE is available as a barebone kit, allowing you to choose your preferred switches and keycaps. The fully built option comes with Geon Raw HE 40g switches and dye-sub PBT/PC keycaps, but the barebone version offers the flexibility to tailor the keyboard to your personal typing preferences.

How does the typing experience feel on this keyboard?

Thanks to its hall effect switches and the redesigned Overture Tadpole V2 dampening system, the typing feel is bouncy yet controlled, with enhanced sound isolation for a satisfying and quieter experience. The internal stainless steel weight and white carbon fiber plate also contribute to a solid, premium typing feel.

What are the material options for the keyboard case and accents?

The keyboard features a CNC aluminum case available in several elegant finishes such as e-coated beige, silver, dark gray, titanium gray, brown, navy blue, and olive green. These are paired with side accents made from materials like parawood, dark walnut, clear polycarbonate, and PVD copper, all clear-coated for durability and style.

Is the keyboard suitable for gaming as well as typing?

Absolutely. The Machina Overture V2 HE’s hall effect switches offer high responsiveness and durability, making it ideal for gaming. The Venom65 HE PCB includes features optimized for gaming performance, ensuring fast and accurate key presses during intense sessions.

What is the typing angle and size of the keyboard?

The keyboard has a comfortable typing angle of 7.0°, with a front height of 14mm, making it ergonomic for extended use. Its compact 65% layout offers a minimalist footprint without sacrificing essential keys.

Does the keyboard come with any sound dampening features?

Yes, the Overture V2 HE version includes a PE foam dampener and redesigned Tadpole V2 dampeners that improve sound isolation and reduce typing noise, giving a more refined and quieter typing experience.

What kind of stabilizers are used in this keyboard?

The keyboard uses plate mount stabilizers which are pre-installed in the fully built option. These stabilizers contribute to a more stable and consistent keypress feel, especially for larger keys like the spacebar and enter key.

Is the keyboard heavy? How portable is it?

Weighing approximately 1.5kg, the Machina Overture V2 HE feels substantial and solid on the desk, thanks to its CNC aluminum body and stainless steel internal weight. While not ultra-lightweight, it remains portable enough for users who want a premium build without excessive bulk.

What accessories are included with the fully built version?

The fully built package includes a USB-C cable, switch and keycap pullers, a set of Overture V2 Tadpole dampeners, a PE foam dampener, plate mount stabilizers, and a Machina carrying case, providing everything needed to start typing or gaming right away.

Product Description

The Machina Overture V2 HE is a 65% mechanical keyboard suited for users who want a compact layout combined with hall effect switch technology, which offers durability and consistent key actuation. It fits gamers or typists looking for a solid build with customizable options, including a fully built version or a barebone kit to select preferred switches and keycaps.

Key Features

Powered by the Venom65 HE PCB, enabling hall effect switch support for longer switch lifespan and stable input detection.
Available as a fully built keyboard with Geon Raw HE 40g switches and dye-sub PBT or PC keycaps, or as a barebone kit for user customization.
Includes sound dampening and foam to reduce typing noise and improve acoustic experience.
Typing angle set at 7°, providing a moderate incline for ergonomic comfort.

Build Quality

CNC-machined aluminum case with multiple side accent options combining wood or metal materials for subtle visual contrast.
Internal brushed stainless steel weight adds stability and a solid feel on the desk.
White carbon fiber or polypropylene plates improve rigidity and influence typing feedback.
Plate-mounted stabilizers and pre-installed Overture V2 Tadpole dampeners enhance key stability and reduce noise.

Typing Experience

Hall effect switches provide a bouncy, consistent typing feel with less debounce issues compared to traditional mechanical switches.
Enhanced sound isolation and foam dampening contribute to a quieter typing environment.
Switches are fixed in the fully built version, limiting switch swapping unless purchased as a barebone kit with a hotswap PCB option.

Customization and Compatibility

Barebone option allows users to choose between Venom65 HE or Machina MX hotswap PCBs, supporting different switch preferences.
65% layout offers a compact form factor with essential keys, suitable for users needing desk space savings without sacrificing functionality.
Keycaps included in the built version are dye-sub PBT or PC, known for durability and resistance to shine.

Trade-offs

Fully built version uses fixed hall effect switches, limiting switch customization after purchase.
No wireless connectivity; USB-C wired connection only.
Weight of 1.5kg makes it less portable for frequent travel despite the included carrying case.
Wooden accents are clear coated, which may affect natural wood feel or aging over time.
