Product Description

The Royal Kludge S85 is a tenkeyless wireless mechanical keyboard designed for users who want a balance of customization, quiet typing, and versatile connectivity. It suits hobbyists who frequently swap switches, as well as professionals needing a compact layout with multi-device support. Its built-in LCD screen and dual knobs add control options beyond standard keyboards.

Key Features

Gasket mount design cushions the typing surface, reducing vibration for a softer, quieter feel.
Hot-swappable switches allow easy customization without soldering, supporting user preference changes or repairs.
Built-in LCD smart display provides quick access to system info or custom visuals, enhancing workflow or personalization.
Dual multifunction knobs offer additional control for volume, scrolling, or other shortcuts, improving efficiency.
South-facing LEDs minimize interference with keycap legends, benefiting users who prefer backlighting without obscured legends.
Five-layer noise dampening reduces typing sound, suitable for shared or quiet environments.
Cherry profile PBT keycaps provide a durable, comfortable key surface resistant to shine and wear.

Connectivity

The keyboard supports tri-mode wireless connectivity, allowing seamless switching between Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired USB-C. This flexibility suits users who work across multiple devices or prefer wired stability when needed.

Build Quality

The case construction and gasket mount contribute to a solid yet cushioned typing experience. The 7200mAh built-in battery supports extended wireless use, though exact battery life is unknown. The compact tenkeyless layout saves desk space without sacrificing essential keys.

Trade-offs

The inclusion of multiple features like the LCD screen and dual knobs may increase complexity for users seeking a straightforward keyboard. The keyboard’s size excludes a numeric keypad, which may be less ideal for users needing frequent number entry. Battery life details are unspecified, so wireless endurance is uncertain.
