Product Description

The Varmilo VA Series V2 Beijing Opera is a full-size mechanical keyboard designed for users who want a traditional layout with durable keycaps and a quieter typing experience. It suits typists and office users who prefer Cherry MX switches and need a stable, wired connection with flexible cable management. It is less ideal for those seeking wireless options or hot-swappable switches.

Key Features

Full-size ANSI layout with 104+4 keys, supporting standard US QWERTY input for broad compatibility.
Thick dye-sub PBT keycaps provide durable legends that resist wear and offer a matte texture for grip.
Standard USB-C connection with customizable cable routing options on the bottom case, allowing cable exit from left, right, or center to fit various desk setups.
Upgraded double-section kickstand offers multiple typing angle adjustments for ergonomic comfort.
North-facing LEDs reduce interference with keycap legends on compatible models.

Build Quality

Wood grain textured plastic case offers a unique aesthetic while maintaining a lightweight design.
Plate-mounted Cherry MX switches ensure stable keypresses and consistent feel.
Sound-proof silicone pads between the PCB and plate reduce typing noise, benefiting quieter environments.
Indicator lights relocated to the top right minimize visual distractions during use.

Typing Experience

Choice of Cherry MX Blue, Brown, Red, or Silent Red switches caters to different tactile and auditory preferences.
Sound dampening pads contribute to a quieter typing sound, especially useful in shared spaces.
Non-hot-swappable switches limit customization to factory-installed options.

Compatibility

Supports Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems without compatibility issues.
ANSI layout suits users familiar with US keyboard standards.

Trade-offs

No wireless connectivity, restricting use to wired setups.
Lacks multimedia keys, which may reduce convenience for media control.
Non-hot-swappable switch design limits switch replacement or experimentation without soldering.
No built-in audio or microphone ports, so external peripherals are required for sound input/output.
