The MW MILKYWORK Alhambra R2 is a premium keycap set designed for mechanical keyboards, inspired by the rich artistic heritage of Spain’s Alhambra Palace. Combining elegant sand-gold tones with Arabic root characters, this set offers a unique aesthetic that blends Islamic and Western design elements. Crafted with high-quality materials and thoughtful enhancements, the Alhambra R2 caters to enthusiasts seeking both style and durability in their keyboard accessories.
The Alhambra R2 keycap set draws its visual inspiration from the intricate decorative arts found in the Alhambra Palace, a historic monument known for its fusion of Islamic and Western architectural styles. The keycaps showcase sand-gold hues that evoke the palace’s grandeur, while the Arabic root characters add an authentic cultural touch. This artistic approach not only enhances the keyboard’s appearance but also reflects a deep appreciation for historical craftsmanship and cultural depth.
Manufactured by MILKYWORK, the Alhambra R2 keycaps are made from durable PBT plastic, known for its resistance to wear and shine over time. The keycaps utilize a doubleshot molding process for the novelties, ensuring crisp legends that won’t fade with heavy use. For the Arabic root characters, dye-sublimation printing is employed, providing sharp, long-lasting legends that surpass the previous R1 version’s pad-printed characters. This combination of techniques results in a set that is both visually striking and built to endure extensive typing sessions.
The R2 revision introduces several practical updates based on user feedback. The base kit now includes additional R4 keys and expanded modifier sizes such as 1u, 1.5u, and 2u shifts, along with a 1u backspace key, offering greater compatibility with various keyboard layouts. The 40s kit has been split and expanded to better support compact and 40% keyboards, addressing previous limitations. Additionally, the novelties kit has been refined by removing certain 1.5u keys and updating the ISO-Enter design, while the Light Mods kit now includes numpad keys to accommodate full-size keyboards. These improvements make the Alhambra R2 a versatile choice for a wide range of mechanical keyboard configurations.
