MonacoKeys F ROW Hollow Tips Tactile is suited to typists who want a pronounced tactile bump and a fuller, brighter sound. Its sharper bump is intended to feel distinct without being aggressive. The relatively loud sound makes it less suitable for quiet shared spaces.

Feel and sound

The switch has a clear, crisp tactile event and a hollow-sounding bottom-out, created by the stem tip meeting the housing. It is designed to sound louder and brighter than earlier test versions. Its shorter travel gives the keystroke a more compact feel, but the exact force curve and actuation point are unknown.

Construction and tuning

The PC top housing, nylon bottom housing, and POM-blend stem shape the switch’s sound and feel. It comes factory-lubed, meaning lubricant is applied before use, and the revised spring and lubrication are intended to reduce spring ping, a metallic ringing noise. They may reduce that noise, but do not guarantee a silent result.

Trade-offs and fit

• Good fit: You prefer a noticeable bump, a crisp stroke, and a fuller, brighter sound.
• Less ideal: You need quiet typing or prefer a subtle tactile response.
• Keycap note: Cherry-standard stem tolerances can make tightly fitted keycaps sit more firmly, which may make them harder to install or remove.
