Product Description

This linear magnetic switch suits users seeking a smooth, consistent keystroke with minimal physical contact wear. It is designed for those who want a quieter, bounce-free typing experience and are using compatible magnetic or Hall Effect PCBs. It is less ideal if you need a switch compatible with standard mechanical keyboard PCBs or prefer tactile feedback.

Feel and Actuation

The switch offers a light initial force, resulting in a smooth and effortless keypress. Its linear design means no tactile bump or click, favoring fluid typing or gaming. Magnetic actuation replaces physical contacts, reducing bounce and chatter for a cleaner signal. The total travel is moderate, providing a balanced bottom-out feel without harsh impact.

Build Quality

The stem is made of POM, known for low friction, contributing to smooth key movement. The top housing uses clear polycarbonate, which can affect sound by producing a slightly brighter tone. The bottom housing is nylon, adding durability. A 20mm stainless steel spring supports consistent force delivery and long-term reliability. The dust-proof stem structure helps maintain smoothness over time.

Compatibility

This switch requires a special PCB designed for magnetic actuation and is not compatible with standard mechanical keyboard PCBs. It mounts via plate mount only. Compatibility with all magnetic or Hall Effect keyboards is not guaranteed due to manufacturing variations. LED compatibility and hot-swap friendliness are unknown.

Trade-offs

The need for a specialized PCB limits its use to certain keyboard builds. It may not work with all magnetic or Hall Effect keyboards, requiring careful compatibility checks. The linear feel lacks tactile feedback, which some users prefer for typing accuracy. Unknown factors include factory lubrication quality and modding potential.
