Product Description

This tactile mechanical switch suits users who want noticeable feedback without loud clicks. It fits typists seeking a balanced tactile bump and moderate actuation force. The switch is less ideal for those needing silent operation or linear keypresses. Its design supports consistent lighting, making it suitable for keyboards with RGB or SMD LEDs.

Feel & Sound

The switch provides a tactile bump at the actuation point, giving clear feedback without a click sound. It is not silent, so some noise is expected during use. The sound profile is moderate, suitable for office or home environments where loud switches may be distracting.

Actuation Characteristics

With a 55g actuation force and a 2.0 mm operating position, it requires moderate pressure to register a keypress. The total travel distance is 4.0 mm, offering a standard key travel experience. The tactile bump helps prevent accidental presses while maintaining smooth bottom-out feel.

Build Quality

The switch features a translucent polycarbonate top housing and a white nylon bottom housing, contributing to durability and enhanced light diffusion. The stem is made of POM, a material known for smooth sliding and reduced friction. It includes a 3-layer pin design for reliable electrical connection and longer lifespan. Factory lubrication is applied, which can reduce initial scratchiness.

Compatibility

It uses a 5-pin PCB mount compatible with most mechanical keyboard PCBs. The translucent housing supports SMD LED lighting, improving backlight brightness and consistency. It is not designed for hot-swap sockets requiring 3-pin switches.

Trade-offs

The switch is not silent, so it may be less suitable for quiet office settings. The tactile bump is noticeable but not sharp, which might not satisfy users wanting very strong feedback. Unknown if the switch exhibits stem wobble or spring ping. Additional lubrication or filming could improve smoothness but is not included.

Use Cases

Good for typists who prefer tactile feedback without click noise. Suitable for office or gaming setups where moderate sound and feel are acceptable. Less ideal for users prioritizing silent or linear switches.
