Greetech Red Linear Switches

This linear switch offers a smooth, consistent keystroke with a light actuation force of 45g, making it suitable for users who prefer effortless key presses. It fits well for gamers seeking quick, uninterrupted inputs and typists who favor a quiet, non-tactile experience. However, it is not silent and may produce noticeable sound during use.

Feel & Sound

• Provides a linear, smooth keystroke without tactile bumps or clicks.
• Not designed to be silent, so keypress noise is present but not loud.
• Bottoming out is consistent but may feel slightly firm due to full travel distance.

Actuation Characteristics

• Light actuation force of 45g reduces finger fatigue during extended typing or gaming sessions.
• Actuation point at 2.0 mm allows for quick response without accidental presses.
• Total travel of 4.0 mm provides a standard key travel distance preferred by many users.

Build & Compatibility

• Features MX-compatible stem, compatible with most keycaps designed for this standard.
• Supports both PCB and plate mounting, providing flexibility for various keyboard builds.
• Single LED compatible, suitable for keyboards with basic lighting setups.

Modification Potential & Trade-Offs

• Comes unlubed, so additional lubrication can improve smoothness and reduce scratchiness.
• Unknown factory leaf ping or stem wobble, which may affect sound and feel.
• Lack of silent design means it may not be ideal for noise-sensitive environments.
