huano Icey Ice Mango Berry Tactile Switches

This tactile switch offers a sharp, medium tactility with a pronounced top bump, suited for users who want clear feedback without excessive force. It works well for typing tasks where a distinct tactile response improves accuracy. The sound profile varies with keyboard build, producing a deeper thock sound in foam-lined cases and a clackier tone in foamless setups. It may require minor lubrication to address occasional scratchiness, making it better suited for users comfortable with basic switch maintenance.

Feel & Sound

• Sharp tactile bump near the top of the keypress for noticeable feedback.
• Medium actuation force balances responsiveness and comfort.
• Sound changes with keyboard build: deeper, quieter thock in foam-lined boards; louder clack without foam.

Actuation Characteristics

• Moderate total travel with a defined tactile point helps reduce accidental key presses.
• Spring force provides a firm but not heavy resistance, suitable for steady typing.

Build Quality

• POK housing and POM stem materials contribute to smooth keypresses and durability.
• Manufactured by Huano, known for consistent spring and stem quality.

Modification Potential

• Some stock switches may exhibit leaf ping or scratchiness, a spring leaf noise affecting sound and smoothness.
• Lubing the leaf contact area with 205g0 grease can reduce ping and improve smoothness.
• Factory lube presence is unknown or minimal, so additional lubing is recommended for optimal feel.

Trade-offs

• May require user-applied lubrication to fix occasional scratchiness or ping.
• Not the quietest tactile switch, especially in foamless keyboards.
• Sharp bump may not suit users preferring smooth or linear switches.
