Product Description

This tactile mechanical switch suits users who want a light, responsive keypress with clear feedback. It fits typists and gamers seeking a distinct tactile bump without excessive force. Its waterproof and dustproof design also makes it suitable for environments where durability against moisture and debris is important.

Feel & Sound

The switch offers a tactile bump with a moderate actuation force, providing noticeable feedback without being heavy. The pre-travel distance allows for quick key activation, supporting fast typing or gaming. Sound is expected to be crisp but not overly loud, with a firm bottom-out feel due to the stainless steel spring.

Actuation Characteristics

It actuates at a light force of 38g, which helps reduce finger fatigue during long sessions. The total travel distance is standard, giving a balance between speed and keypress depth. The 2.0mm actuation point supports swift input recognition, while the 3.6mm total travel allows for comfortable keypress completion.

Build Quality

The switch uses a polycarbonate top housing and POM bottom housing, which contribute to durability and a smooth keystroke. The POM stem reduces friction, enhancing smoothness and consistency. A 20mm stainless steel spring adds stability and a solid bottom-out feel. Factory lubrication helps minimize initial scratchiness, improving out-of-the-box smoothness.

Compatibility

It is designed for PCB mounting with five pins, compatible with most standard mechanical keyboard PCBs. The transparent light pipe enhances backlighting effects, supporting SMD LEDs. Hot-swap compatibility is unknown.

Trade-offs

The tactile bump may feel sharp or too pronounced for users preferring smoother or linear switches. While factory lubed, additional lubrication could further reduce any residual scratchiness. The IP56 rating adds protection but may slightly affect sound and feel compared to non-sealed switches.
