Feel & Sound

This switch offers a smooth keystroke with no tactile bump, providing a consistent linear feel. The proprietary PME housing material produces a distinctive, slightly high-pitched sound that is more clacky than muted. It is not silent, so it may not suit quiet office environments.

Actuation Characteristics

The switch actuates at a moderate 55g force with a total travel of 3.5mm, allowing for responsive yet controlled keypresses. Bottoming out requires slightly more force, which can help reduce accidental presses. The pre-travel distance supports quick input without feeling too sensitive.

Build Quality

It features Tecsee’s proprietary PME top and bottom housing made from self-lubricating POM, contributing to smoothness and consistency. The green nylon stem and gold-plated spring enhance durability and reduce corrosion. The switch comes lightly factory lubed, which improves initial smoothness.

Compatibility & Mounting

The switch uses a 5-pin PCB mount compatible with standard MX-style sockets. It supports a single LED per switch for basic backlighting but does not support hot-swap plate mounting. This limits easy swapping without soldering.

Trade-offs

The unique PME housing sound may be too sharp or clacky for some users. While factory lubed, further lubrication might be needed to reduce any residual scratchiness, a common issue where stem friction affects smoothness. The switch is not silent and lacks tactile feedback, which may not suit all typing preferences.
