How does the HERO84's polling rate compare to traditional mechanical keyboards?

Most traditional mechanical keyboards operate at a 1000Hz polling rate, while the HERO84's 8000Hz rate is eight times faster. This difference translates to quicker key recognition and less latency, which is especially noticeable during rapid or simultaneous key presses.

Do I need special hardware or software to use the 8000Hz polling rate?

No special hardware is required—just a USB 2.0 or higher port. The HERO84 comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable, and once connected, it automatically takes advantage of the higher polling rate. No additional drivers or software are needed to access this feature, but advanced customization can be done via the web driver.

Will the high polling rate of the HERO84 affect my computer’s performance?

The 8000Hz polling rate is designed to be efficient and should not noticeably impact your computer’s performance, even during intensive gaming sessions. Modern PCs easily handle the increased data rate from the keyboard.

Can the polling rate of the AULA HERO84 be adjusted?

The HERO84 is optimized for an 8000Hz polling rate out of the box. While the keyboard focuses on delivering maximum performance at this rate, any adjustments to polling rate would typically be managed by the operating system or through third-party software, not directly through the keyboard itself.

Is the high polling rate useful outside of gaming?

Absolutely! While gamers benefit most from the ultra-fast response, anyone who values responsiveness—such as programmers, digital artists, or fast typists—will appreciate the near-instantaneous input registration. It helps reduce the delay between pressing a key and seeing the result on screen, creating a smoother typing experience.

Does using the HERO84’s maximum polling rate require a specific USB port?

To fully utilize the 8000Hz polling rate, connect the HERO84 to a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port. These ports support the necessary data transfer speeds for high polling rates.

Can I notice the difference between 1000Hz and 8000Hz polling rates?

For many users, the upgrade from 1000Hz to 8000Hz will feel smoother and more responsive, especially during rapid key presses or complex macros. Competitive gamers and enthusiasts are most likely to notice the improvement, while casual users may perceive a general sense of increased fluidity.

Product Description

The AULA HERO84 is a compact 75% wired keyboard designed for gamers and users who want highly customizable key actuation and fast input response. Its Hall Effect magnetic switches allow precise adjustment of actuation distance, making it suitable for fast-paced gaming and varied typing preferences. The keyboard’s layout balances desk space savings with functionality, while sound dampening layers reduce typing noise.

Key Features

Hall Effect magnetic switches enable contactless key actuation, reducing wear and allowing actuation adjustment from 0.01mm to 3.4mm for tailored responsiveness.
High polling rate of 8000Hz and 128kHz scanning rate improve input speed, minimizing delay for competitive gaming.
Per-key south-facing RGB lighting with customizable effects enhances visibility and personalization without interfering with keycap legends.
Hot-swappable switches allow easy replacement or customization without soldering.

Build Quality and Typing Experience

ABS plastic case with tray-mounted design provides a stable, solid base but is less premium-feeling than metal cases.
Five layers of internal sound dampening materials create a quieter, thocky typing sound, uncommon in magnetic switch keyboards.
Pre-lubed switches contribute to smoother keystrokes and reduced friction.

Connectivity and Customization

Wired connection via USB-A to USB-C cable ensures consistent performance and compatibility with most systems.
Programmable through a web-based driver accessible on Chromium browsers, allowing key remapping, macro creation, lighting control, and advanced input options like Mod Tap and Dynamic Keystroke.

Trade-offs

ABS plastic case may feel less durable compared to metal alternatives.
No wireless option limits portability.
Lack of a light diffuser means RGB lighting may be less evenly distributed.
Compact 75% layout omits dedicated function row and some navigation keys, which may reduce convenience for heavy productivity users.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The AULA HERO84 features an ultra-fast 8000Hz (8K) polling rate, which means it reports its input to your computer 8000 times per second. This dramatically reduces input lag compared to standard keyboards, ensuring that your keystrokes are registered almost instantly. For gamers, especially in fast-paced genres like FPS or rhythm games, this can provide a tangible competitive edge by making every action more responsive.
