Keychron Carbon 60 HE

It combines a compact 60% form factor with Hall effect (HE) input and a carbon fiber composite shell. The housing is designed to be rigid and stable, while the HE system supports fine adjustment of key actuation.

The shell uses a composite with approximately 60% carbon content. Its added rigidity helps limit flex and wobble during use, while the material is also designed to balance strength, impact resistance, and relatively low weight.

Its 60% layout keeps the footprint small by focusing on the main typing keys rather than a full-size arrangement. That can leave more desk space for mouse movement, though you may need to use key combinations for functions that are separate keys on larger keyboards.

Hall effect keyboards detect key movement magnetically rather than relying on a conventional contact-based switch mechanism. On the Carbon 60 HE, this supports adjustable actuation, letting you tune how far a key needs to move before it registers.

The actuation sensitivity can be adjusted in increments as fine as 0.005 mm. That level of control is useful if you want to tailor key response to your preferences, but the ideal setting depends on your typing style and how easily you want keys to register.

An 8K polling rate means the keyboard can report input to a connected computer up to 8,000 times per second. It is intended to provide very frequent input updates, although the practical difference can depend on your computer, applications, and personal sensitivity to responsiveness.

Its adjustable actuation can be useful for gaming, where you may prefer a quick response, and can also be tuned for more deliberate typing. The compact layout is a consideration for both: it saves space, but some keys found on larger keyboards are accessed through combinations.

It is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. The exact way you access secondary functions may vary with the keyboard layout and the operating system you use.

The shell is engineered to be especially rigid compared with ordinary plastic, which helps the board feel stable rather than flexing under pressure. Your overall typing feel will still depend on factors such as actuation settings and your own typing technique.
