Product Description

The Varmilo Sword 268 Twilight is a compact mechanical keyboard designed for users who want a sturdy metal case combined with Varmilo’s EC switch options. It suits typists and enthusiasts who value a solid build and a unique aesthetic with customizable top covers. This board is good if you prefer a US ANSI layout and need full multimedia keys, but it is less ideal if you want hot-swappable switches or wireless connectivity.

Key Features

Compact 68-key layout balances desk space savings with access to essential keys, including multimedia controls.
Detachable magnetic top case allows easy customization with future color options, letting users personalize the look without tools.
White LED backlighting provides basic illumination without RGB complexity, suitable for low-light typing.

Build Quality

CNC-machined aluminum case offers durability and a premium feel compared to plastic alternatives.
Four-stage color separation design creates visual depth by showing distinct layers from multiple angles.
Plate-mounted switches enhance typing stability and reduce key wobble.

Typing Experience

Equipped exclusively with Varmilo EC switches, which provide a specific tactile or linear feel depending on variant choice.
PBT keycaps with dye-sublimated legends resist wear and maintain clarity over time.
Non-hot-swappable switch design means switch replacement requires desoldering, limiting easy customization.

Compatibility

ANSI US QWERTY layout supports Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems without compatibility issues.
Full USB rollover ensures accurate key detection during fast typing or gaming.

Trade-offs

No wireless or Bluetooth connectivity, restricting use to wired setups only.
Lacks built-in audio or microphone ports, which some users may find limiting for integrated desk setups.
Absence of hot-swap sockets reduces flexibility for users who frequently change switches.
