Lichicx Orange Silent Light Tactile Switches

Lichicx Orange Silent Light Tactile is suited to typists who want a gentle tactile cue and reduced switch noise, without a heavy press. Its short bump begins early in the keypress, so it may also appeal to users who prefer feedback near the start of a stroke. It is less suited to anyone seeking a pronounced bump or a loud, resonant typing sound.

Feel and sound

The tactile bump is described as light and brief. A silicone layer in the stem is intended to soften the keypress, while the vendor describes the feel as responsive rather than mushy. The silent design makes it a candidate for quieter shared spaces, though the exact sound level in a finished keyboard is unknown.

The light press can reduce effort for users who dislike heavier switches. The trade-off is that its subtle feedback may feel insufficient if you want a strong tactile signal on every press.

Press and construction

Its relatively short travel gives less distance to cover before a keypress completes. The light actuation favors an easy press, while the firmer end of the stroke provides a more noticeable stopping point. The stem combines POM with separate rails and a silicone dampening layer; the housings use polycarbonate above and nylon below.

Fit and limitations

It uses a five-pin PCB-mount layout, so check that your keyboard supports that mounting style. The switches are factory-lubed, but the effect of additional lubrication is unknown. Information about wobble, spring noise, and long-term durability is also unknown, so those qualities should not be assumed.
