The Gateron Jade Delta Light Linear is a Hall Effect linear switch designed for gamers who prioritize fast, consistent key presses and precise control. It suits users with Hall Effect-compatible PCBs seeking a smooth, stable switch optimized for quick actuation and reliable input, especially in fast-paced shooter games. It is not compatible with traditional MX-style PCBs.
This switch offers a smooth, linear keystroke with no tactile bump or click. Factory lubrication provides a soft, low-friction feel, reducing initial scratchiness common in new switches. The closed-back housing produces a defined, muted sound profile that is quieter than many clicky or tactile switches but still audible. The sound and feel are tuned to deliver consistent feedback without distracting noise.
With a short total travel distance of 3.5mm and a relatively light actuation force, it enables rapid key presses and quick resets. The stable triangular housing design minimizes wobble, ensuring precise and repeatable actuation. Bottom-out force is moderate, offering a balanced resistance that avoids harsh bottoming out while maintaining responsiveness.
The switch uses a unique triangular structure for enhanced stability and rare permanent magnets with a high intrinsic coercivity, ensuring consistent magnetic force over time. This magnetic design eliminates performance degradation common in some Hall Effect switches. The housing is made from modified POM plastic, providing a matte finish and durability.
These switches require Hall Effect-compatible PCBs with downward-facing N-pole magnets, such as Wooting HE+ and similar boards. They are incompatible with standard MX mount PCBs and cannot be used in keyboards designed for traditional mechanical switches. This limits their use to specific custom or specialized keyboards.
The switch’s reliance on specialized PCBs restricts its compatibility, making it unsuitable for users without Hall Effect boards. While factory lubrication improves smoothness, additional modding potential is unknown. The linear feel may not satisfy users seeking tactile or clicky feedback. The unique magnetic design adds complexity but enhances input stability.
