HMX Yogurt S Switches

HMX Yogurt S is a linear switch with a smooth, uninterrupted press and a bright, pronounced clack. It suits users who prefer linear feel and want an audible, lively sound, but is less suitable if you need tactile feedback or a quiet keyboard.

Feel and sound

There is no tactile bump to mark the press, which may suit repeated keystrokes but offers less physical feedback than a tactile switch. The sound is high-pitched and clacky, so it may be distracting in shared spaces. The revised top housing is intended to reduce stem wobble, meaning less side-to-side movement when pressing a key.

Build and lubrication

The fibreglass-rich bottom housing is designed to give bottom-outs a livelier sound. Factory lubrication, lubricant applied before assembly, covers the stem sliders and legs; the spring and leaf receive dry-film lubrication. The bottom housing and stem-pole area are left dry to limit lubricant pooling. RGB shine-through is improved by the revised top housing, though the amount of visible light will depend on the keyboard.

Trade-offs

• Good fit if you want a smooth linear press with a distinct, bright clack.

• Less suitable for quiet typing or anyone who prefers a tactile bump.

• Actual noise level and sound character in your keyboard are unknown.
