Product Description

Keygeek T2 is a linear switch for users who want a pronounced clack and some texture under the keys, rather than a silent or glass-smooth feel. It may suit builders seeking an old-school typing character, but is less suitable for quiet rooms or anyone who strongly prefers frictionless travel.

Feel and sound

The keystroke is described as smooth and consistent, with a deliberately noticeable grain and a touch of scratchiness. Its linear action has no tactile bump. Expect a loud, full-bodied clack, including at bottom-out, so the sound will be prominent in shared spaces. The textured feel is a defining trade-off, not a flaw to assume will disappear.

Lubrication and materials

Selective factory lubrication means some moving surfaces are treated while the bottom housing and stem-pole area are left dry. This is intended to preserve the switch’s character and reduce lubricant pooling. The stem uses a POM and Kevlar blend, which the vendor associates with a solid clack. How it responds to extra lubrication or films is unknown, so modifications may change the intended feel or sound.

Who it suits

  • Consider it if you want a linear with audible presence and a lightly textured stroke.
  • Look elsewhere if you need quiet operation, a completely smooth feel, or tactile feedback to mark actuation.
  • Force curve and suitability for a particular typing or gaming preference are unknown from the available information.
