Lichicx Rime Silent Tactile Switches

Lichicx Rime Silent Tactile is suited to typists who want a pronounced bump with a light press, while keeping keyboard noise subdued. It may also suit shared rooms, but is less fitting if you prefer a smooth linear feel or want to feel little resistance from the bump.

Feel and sound

The tactile bump gives clear feedback as you press, and the light weighting means it does not require a heavy push. Silencing at both the bottom and top of the stroke reduces impact noise when pressing and releasing keys. This lowers noise, but does not mean keystrokes are inaudible. The vendor describes the bottom-out as firm rather than mushy.

What to consider

• The pronounced feedback is a benefit for tactile typists, but may feel distracting if you prefer an uninterrupted keypress.
• The longer stroke provides more travel than a shallow-feeling switch, which may not suit users seeking a short press.
• Factory lubrication, lubricant applied before use, is intended to help the movement feel smooth. The effect of additional modifications is unknown.

Use cases

Consider it for typing at home or in a shared workspace when you want tactile feedback without a loud bottom-out and release. Its light press may also appeal if heavier tactile switches tire your fingers. Gaming suitability and long-term durability are unknown, so those needs may call for hands-on testing or more information.
