XVX Medium Purple Linear Switches

The XVX Medium purple is a linear mechanical switch designed for users who want a smooth and consistent keypress with moderate resistance. It suits gamers seeking quick, low-noise actuation and typists who prefer a straightforward, non-tactile feel. Its construction supports reliable performance in both gaming and office environments.

Feel & Sound

• Delivers a smooth, linear keypress without tactile bumps or clicks.
• Produces a low sound level, making it suitable for quieter settings.
• Offers a firm rebound with a strong vertical pressing force, which some users may find requires more deliberate keypresses.

Actuation Characteristics

• Moderate actuation force provides balance between responsiveness and resistance, helping prevent accidental key presses.
• Pre-travel distance allows for early input registration, beneficial for fast-paced gaming.
• Total travel is standard, giving a familiar bottom-out feel without being overly long or short.

Build Quality & Compatibility

• Features a POM stem and nylon PA66 top housing, contributing to durability and smooth operation.
• Supports 5-pin MX-style mounting, compatible with most standard mechanical keyboard PCBs and plates.
• Includes factory pre-lubrication, which reduces initial scratchiness and improves smoothness.
• Supports unraised SMD LEDs only, limiting compatibility with some LED configurations.

Use Cases & Trade-Offs

• Well suited for gaming and office typing where quiet, consistent keypresses are preferred.
• Less ideal if you prefer tactile or clicky feedback, as it lacks any bump or audible click.
• Strong rebound force may feel stiff to users accustomed to lighter switches.
• Unknown how it performs with additional modifications such as re-lubing or filming.
