Product Description

The Yunzii B98 is a wireless mechanical keyboard with a 96% layout that includes a numpad, suited for users who want a compact design without losing essential keys. It fits well for those needing multi-device connectivity and easy switch between Windows and macOS layouts. The hot-swappable switches and gasket mounting make it appealing to hobbyists who want to customize typing feel and sound. It also suits office and casual gaming users who value wireless flexibility and solid build quality.

Key Features

Tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth, 2.4G wireless, wired) allows flexible use across multiple devices, with quick switching between up to 5 paired devices.
Hot-swappable switch sockets support most 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches, enabling easy customization without soldering.
South-facing RGB lighting with side LEDs offers adjustable backlight effects controlled by shortcuts or software.
Includes a full numpad in a 96% layout, saving desk space compared to full-size keyboards while retaining arrow and function keys.

Build Quality and Typing Experience

Gasket-mounted design with factory-installed sound-absorbing layers reduces noise and provides a softer, more elastic keystroke.
Pre-lubed linear switches deliver a smooth, quiet typing feel with a "thocky" sound profile preferred by some typists and gamers.
Double-shot PBT Cherry profile keycaps resist oil and wear, maintaining texture over long-term use.
Ergonomic layout and moderate weight make it stable on the desk but still portable.

Connectivity and Compatibility

Supports Windows and macOS layouts with default shortcuts for easy switching between operating systems.
Wired mode uses a Type-C connection with a 1000 Hz polling rate, suitable for low-latency gaming or work.
4000mAh battery supports long wireless use and fast charging, though exact battery life is unknown.

Trade-offs

The 96% layout may have a learning curve for users accustomed to full-size or tenkeyless keyboards.
Switch options are limited to Yunzii’s own linear switches by default, which may not suit users preferring tactile or clicky switches without replacement.
Software customization is available but details on firmware updates or community support are unknown.
