Hot-swap sockets use spring-loaded contacts that grip switch pins when inserted and release them when pulled out. This eliminates the need for soldering. Most modern hot-swap sockets support both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches. To swap switches, use a switch puller to remove the old ones and press new switches firmly into the sockets.
